Today’s Reflection
From the very beginning, our faith has been anchored in the love God has given us. His love is not simply something we receive; it is something we are commanded to extend to others.
In 1 Corinthians 13, Paul reminds us that even the greatest spiritual gifts mean nothing without love. We can speak beautiful words, possess knowledge, understand Scripture, and outwardly demonstrate our faith, but if love is absent, we have missed the very heart of God’s message.
Jesus also warns us that it is possible to honor God with our lips while our hearts remain far from Him.
These scriptures invite us to examine more than what we say we believe. They challenge us to consider how we treat people, especially those who disagree with us, disappoint us, or see the world differently.
The hatred, division, and harshness surrounding us can slowly influence our attitudes if we are not careful. We may begin to justify unkindness because we believe we are standing for truth. But truth spoken without love can become another source of hurt.
We cannot allow the hatred of the world to distort the love of Christ within us.
This is why renewing our faith each day is essential. We need time in God’s Word, time in prayer, and time to examine our hearts. We must continually invite the Holy Spirit to remove bitterness, soften our responses, and help us see others through God’s eyes.
Spiritual growth is not measured only by how much Scripture we know or how actively we serve. It is also reflected in our patience, kindness, humility, forgiveness, and compassion.
Love is not an optional part of our faith. It is the foundation upon which everything else must stand.
Today’s Encouragement
Let your actions reflect the love of Christ, even when the world around you does not.
Prayer
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for loving me with a love that is patient, forgiving, and unconditional. Forgive me for the times when my words have spoken of faith but my actions have failed to reflect Your love.
Renew my heart each day. Do not allow the hatred, division, or harshness of this world to take root within me. Help me speak truth with gentleness, respond with compassion, forgive without keeping a record of wrongs, and love others as You have commanded.
Holy Spirit, guide my thoughts, my words, and my actions. Let my faith be more than something I profess. Let it be something others can see through the love I demonstrate.
May everything I do bring glory to You.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
